Mining and blasting methods.
The company has been present on the German market for almost 30 years now. In the years 1980—2000 it worked it their mines as a subcontractor. High quality of services influenced the decision when in 2003 it was given the position of main contractor and sole contractor for subsequent projects in Ruhra and Saara areas. Particular contracts covered preliminary works, preliminary deposit workings, ventilation shaft drilling as well as underground coal chambers. Galleries were made for the “Auguste Victoria”, “Walsum” and “Ensdorf” mines with total length of roughly 8,000 m. Two retention cisterns were also built, in the “Auguste Victoria” it was 8.6 m in diameter and 22 m deep, and in “West” – 9 m diameter and 53 m deep.
The last contract in Germany was finished by the company this year in June. It was the longest foreign contract realized by PeBeKa. The works lasted since November 2004. Workers drilled 3,818 meters of passage combining two peripheral shafts of the “Auguste Victoria” mine with mining and blasting methods. Due to the fact that the gallery led through geologically unresearched area of the mine, unpredicted tectonic obstacles were encountered, that caused problems and slowed down drilling. Specialized knowledge, expertise and excellent work organization enabled the firm to overcome difficulties.
