The investment includes modernization of no. 8 railway section Warsaw West – Warsaw Okęcie together with linkage to the Okęcie Airport. The tunnel link leads to an underground railway station already existing in rough state near airport terminals.
Offer set forth by a consortium of: Bilfinger Berger Polska S.A. (leader), Zakłady Usług nergetycznych i Komunikacyjnych ZUE S.A., PeBeKa Mine Building Company S.A. from Lubin, Przedsiębiorstwo Napraw i Utrzymania Infrastruktury Kolejowej w Krakowie Sp. z o.o, Kolejowe Zakłady Automatyki Katowice S.A., was considered the most advantageous.
PeBeKa’s works extent includes the execution of part of the construction works connected with building the tunnel and entrance platform as well as building these supplemental structures: electricity substation and control room. Work schedule is estimated at 10 to 12 months. The entirety of this investment should be finished in 20 months.
