    Published 27 November 2008

Yesterday at the “Muza” Community Center, the most deserving of PeBeKa’s employees were honored. During yesterday’s festivities, five miners were given Polish mining badges of honor, four – KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. badges, and as many as 25 persons (including three women) were credited as distinguished PeBeKa employees.

Additionally, based on government ordinance on special privileges for mine employees, distinguished employees of PeBeKa S.A. were given titles of IInd degree mining engineer (for eight men), IIIrd degree mining engineer titles were given to two women and thirteen men.

A special distinction for miners is the mining sword. The sword, awarded by the government, is the most prized traditional honor given after at least 25 years of paragon mine work. Gaining the sword is treated as a symbol of nobility gained not by birth, but through honest learning and work. At this year’s ceremony, twenty two of the most distinguished employees of PeBeKa S.A. were given the sword.
